FAQ: Does XZ Backup support the backup of Pervasive SQL, Sysbase, db2, FoxPro database?

    3. Does XZ Backup - Advanced License support the backup of Pervasive SQL, Sysbase, db2, FoxPro database?
  3. Steps:
    4. The current version of XZ Backup - Advanced License does not have a specific backup module to handle backup of such databases, to handle the backup of these database, please refer the following:

    1. Use the pre / post backup command to shutdown/startup your applications before/after a backup job (assuming you don't need to have your database / application online 24x7 and the database file is small enough to be transmitted to the backup server each night.

    2. Use the pre backup command to run a database specific command to dump/export all database data to a dump file and upload this dump file using a file-type backup set.


    We are planning to have a general framework design for all other database / applications like Pervasive SQL, Sysbase, db2, FoxPro ... etc. We are targeting this feature in future version our software.
