A rSyncIT Quick Start Using FileZilla (Windows / Mac)
Here is a quick start guide for using your rSyncIT Account.
This guide will take you through a step by step set up using FileZilla, a free and open sourced FTP Application that is available for most Operating System platforms. You can download FileZilla by clicking here.
Once you have selected the correct install of FileZilla corresponding to the OS Platform you are using, you may begin the QuickStart Guide. You should have recieved an email from XZ Backup.com titled "New Account Information". Locate this email and have it open, so you can easily reference the information inside it.
Step 1. - Open FileZilla
Step 2. - Configure FileZilla
At the top of the FileZilla app, there is a text area / input field called "Host". You will need to refer to the New Account Information email, and locate the Server IP. Once you have located the Server IP, enter it into the "Host" input field.
Step 3. - Username and Password.
Refer once again to your New Account Information email, and find the username and password that was sent within this email. The password is randomly generated and you can change it at any time within your control panel. Enter both the Username and Password into the corresponding inputer area, at the top of FileZilla, just like you did the "Host" field.
Step 4. - Connect to Your rSyncIT Server.
Once you have correctly input the Host, Username, and Password, select "Quick Connect" from the top of FileZilla.
Step 5. - Transfer files.
Once you have successfully logged into your rSyncIT server. You will see a list of folders that are titled accordingly. If you are unsure about what these folders you see mean, then simply overlook them. You are in what is called you "Root Directory". From here, you are presented with two side by side windows. The left side is your computer, and the right side is your rSyncIT server. To create a new directory on your rSyncIT server, simply right click, and select "Create Directory". Once you create your own directoty, double-click the folder. Once you are in this foler, you may drag and drop the files you would like to upload to that corresponding folder, much like you would a local file transfer from folder to folder.
And thats it! You have connected to your rSyncIT Server using FileZilla!
