Setting Up rSyncIT using FTP
Setting up rSyncIT to work with your FTP client.
You can download a variety of FTP clients to use with rSyncIT, many of which are open sourced or free.
Once you sign up for rSyncIT, you will be given an address to send your data to. This address should look something like 54.123.94.10, otheriwse known as an IP Address.
You need to have the address given to you on sign up, as well as your username and password that you used to sign up with.
Once you have this information, open up your FTP client.
Somewhere in the interface of your FTP client, you will see a text area to input your server's IP Address. Depending on what software you are using, the placement of this text area / input area will vary.
Once you have entered the correct address corresponding to your account, you will need to provide the username and password credentials that you used to sign up. Once you have connected to your FTP server / rSyncIT server, you can begin to transfer files to and from the server, much like you would with Windows Explorer or OSX's Finder application. Usually a simple drag and drop from your computer into the FTP directory will initiate an upload or a download.
